Founded in 1968 by Silvano Samaroli, the Rome-based bottler was among the first outside Scotland to independently select and release Scotch whisky. With an impeccable eye for single cask quality, Silvano is regarded by many as a visionary - and his early bottlings, particularly from the 1970s and 1980s, are among the most prized by collectors for their scarcity and character.
This Lagavulin was released as part of a series of Very Limited Editions that also included a sought-after Bowmore and Port Ellen. Bottled at natural cask strength, 56% ABV, from a run of just 324 bottles.
