The oldest spirit to ever be independently bottled exclusively for Australia. The distillation of this cognac was made towards the beginning of the 20th century in the village of Bourg Charente, by the Cabanne family. It then matured in French oak for 100 years prior to being bottled in November of 2025 at cask strength.
This very old and remarkable Grande Champagne Cognac was specially selected to celebrate our 5th anniversary. Please make sure to secure your bottle. Once it’s gone, it’s gone forever.
The Origin
A story that begins in 1810 when Monsieur Francois Cabanne settles on the river Charente where the distillery of Cabanne was founded and is still located over 200 years later. The direct fire distillation of this cognac was made on lees, towards the beginning of the 20th century in the village of Bourg Charente, by the Cabanne family in the old distillery of Maine Gallard.
This very still was decommissioned long ago, but remains visible at Cabanne Distillery as a cherished heritage item.
Known in other parts of the world as Trebianno, originally a grape varietal from Italy. Ugni Blanc makes up approximately 98% of Cognac vineyards and is favoured due its high yield. It is well known for its long ageing potential and light floral profile.
