64 Year Old Cask Strength Cognac

1961, 64-Year-Old Cognac • Matured in French Oak • Cask Strength • Limited to 162 bottles • RRP: $359 • Release Date: 25 June 2026

A scarce cognac from the legendary 1961 vintage, distinguished by a lower yield harvest of exceptional quality. Distilled in 1961, then matured in French Oak for 64 years prior to being bottle straight from the barrel. Cask strength cognac at its finest.

The Origin

In 1893 Jean Baptiste Peyrot first started caring for the Peyrot vineyard, which has since become known as ‘Les Bergeronnettes’. His daughter, Mathilde Peyrot-Barret took charge of the humble seven-acre vineyard in 1956, and distilled this cognac in 1961. It spent 64 long years maturing in a French oak cask, prior to being bottled at cask strength.

Cognac Peyrot remains family owned, and they continue to create cognac from the same plot their grandfather cared for 130 years ago.

Known in other parts of the world as Trebbiano, originally a grape varietal from Italy. Ugni Blanc makes up approximately 98% of Cognac vineyards and is favoured due its high yield. It is well known for its long ageing potential and light floral profile.

Peyrot’s plantation of St Emilion grapes dates back to 1928, planted between World War 1 and World War 2.

Ugni Blanc (St Emilion)
