A story that begins in 1810 when Monsieur Francois Cabanne settles on the river Charente where the distillery of Cabanne was founded and is still located over 200 years later. The distillation of this cognac was carried out on lees towards the beginning of the 20th of the century in the village of Bourg-Charente, by the Cabanne family in the old distillery of Maine Gallard via direct fire.
This very still was decommissioned long ago, but remains visible at Cabanne as a cherished heritage item.
Nose: Big aroma. cherry liqueur, walnuts, guava, feijoa, mandarin & coffee syrup.
Taste: Fruity. Peaches, apricot, guava, green mango and dark chocolate.
Finish: Dried apricot, sultanas, mango, yellow grapefruit & fig. Medium-long length.
Overall: A fruit-forward and complex cognac that drinks higher than the stated abv, with great texture and structure. Magnifique.
