In the 1870s Founder Mederic Tiffon distilled his first Tiffon eau de vie in Jarnac, France. He founded Cognac Tiffon in 1875, close to other notable Cognac houses such as Bisquit and Courvoisier. He continued to perfect his craft and in 1919 his niece Edith Rousseau and her Norwegian Husband Sverre Braastad took over the family business known then as, Etablissements Tiffon. Today Cognac Tiffon is still family owned and run by fourth generation, who continue to harvest grapes, distil cognac and care for the maturing stock from previous generations in the heart of Cognac.
