The Peyrot family has roots in Grande Champagne dating back to 1893, when first generation viticulturist Jean Baptiste Peyrot first began cultivating grapes. In 1956 he handed over a seven acre vineyard to his daughter Mathilde Peyrot-Barret, with this 1960 being the first vintage she distilled. Matured in Limousin oak and bottled at cask strength. Cognac Peyrot remains family owned and in the hands of the fourth generation, with the fifth generation currently learning to craft eau de vie from the vineyard their grandfather cared for 130 years ago.
